Five Live: Get Out

Five Live: Music
1. Todd Rundgren The list of his accomplishments over a 40-plus-year career is dizzying, considering his work behind and in front of the mike and his ferocious work ethic. Prolific is an understatement. 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aladdin Theater, 3017 S.E. Milwaukie Ave.; $35, Ticketmaster, 503-224-4400

High Five
1. “Wall*E” Pixar can say what no other movie studio can: It has never made a bad film, not ever, and “Wall*E” continues its remarkable streak of inventive, entertaining and endearing works of high-level animated craft. In its first half, the title character, a trash compactor toiling away on a deserted planet Earth, reveals a soul deeper and sweeter than those of most human characters in Hollywood films. In the second, more doctrinaire and familiar portion, his love for another robot helps save humanity from turning into immobile lumps addicted to advertising media. The earlier parts, with their near-silence and astounding detail, are better, but it’s all charming. (Multiple locations)

Nickel and Dime
Target Free First Friday Spend Independence Day evening at the Portland Children’s Museum for fire dancing and a sparkly craft project. 5-8 p.m. Friday, at the museum, 4015 S.W. Canyon Road; 503-223-6500.
